Bugg was a Pepsi Junior Golf Tour participant, the 1997 Kentucky Golf Association Amateur Player of the Year, and went on to success as a touring professional, winning the 2002 Nationwide Tour’s Arkansas Classic. He was diagnosed with leukemia later that year, and passed away on December 4, 2003 at the age of 27.
This year’s Jace Bugg Sportsmanship Award was presented to Cameron Beal of Bowling Green, KY. Beal best exemplifies the values and spirit of true sportsmanship in which this award is presented.
