Mallory Blackwelder Named as Alternate for United States Curtis Cup Team
Mallory Blackwelder, a member of the University of Kentucky's women's golf team, has been named by the United States Golf Association as the second alternate to the 2008 United States Curtis Cup Team. Ms. Blackwelder, who captured the 2007 Women's Western Amateur Championship and finished runner-up in the 2007 Women's Trans National Amateur Championship, is a veteran of the Pepsi Junior Golf Tour. She is the daughter of Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame Member and University of Kentucky women's golf coach Myra VanHoose Blackwelder.
